Just an FYI: If you have some change laying around in your account, buy all the fireworks you can carry. You get 5ea for 1 cent that you can turn around and sell for 200-300 a piece in game. Just set up shop in an area that has high level traffic (or one that has wedding appeal) and you'll bring in lots of cash in your down time.
I did this last week and made about 100k in a day... I wish I had more money in my account, but I spent most of the ten dollars I put in on expansion stones and a couple of those magic things that... what ever they're called.
So... I thought there were Ventrillo directions around here somewhere....
Good choice, expansion stones should be the first thing most people get in the mall as inventory/bank space is quite limited. I can see how cat shopping boutique items can help you make more coins. Couple that with mob loot and you're looking at making quite a bit. Later on, as you progress through the game, you'll gain more and more coin drop from enemies. At level 30, I believe you get around 200 coin. Around your 60's, you should see coin drop ranging anywhere from 40-800 coin. Coupled with selling DQ items, the occassional equipment drop, and various other things, you can look at making 100k in an hour from merchanting items from questing alone. Mind you, most of the money you'll make is when you're doing quests by yourself, or with one other person, as the loot distribution is kept minimal. You'll only make a fraction of that amount if you are in a squad for lengthy amounts of time. The exception being in a group for TT or FB runs where you could get something nice. Here are just a few tips I've come up with to help you save money... - If you're a squishy type, learn to kite (hit-n-run) enemies. By level 20, most players will have figured out their own way of staying alive. Using a combination of skills to dispatch the enemies faster, snaring the enemy and attacking from afar, or the hit n run tactic I mentioned. It may seem slower but you'll save money on your repair bill. - Use your HP/MP pots sparingly. Typically, if you spam skills, you will go through these items in no time. If you're a melee class, you shouldn't be using a lot of mana pots anyways. If you haven't started, I suggest picking up the apothecary trade as a secondary job. You can manufacture Mana pots and save a ton of coin by picking herbs scattered all over the place. If all else fails, meditate on an elevated location away from enemy aggro when you need to. - Don't buy all your equipment from an NPC. Monsters you come across will drop your armor/ornaments eventually. You'll also receive equipment as rewards from completing certain quests. You really won't need to worry too much about equipment until you're in your 50's. - Lastly, pick up everything you can. It may not seem like much but every bit adds up when you unload your loot at a merchant. If you run out of space while out killing things, make your way to the nearest NPC with a trade window and sell. Arrows and bolts should be the first thing you drop as they fetch the least amount of coin at the merchant.

Title: Patch PreviewDate: 2009-07-07PWI continues to grow exponentially and we have you, our players, to thank. Thanks to such strong support and feedback from our users, the development team for PWI continues to create and revise existing content for the better of the game. The following list of changes is coming soon to a PWE server near you: New ContentWarsong City - This is a new unique instance where players are subject to several challenges, including a boss hunt and even a siege. How long can you hold out? Bounty Hunter - A new NPC will soon be appearing in-game providing everyone with new daily quests to complete. Every day the Bounty Hunter will have a different boss on his hit list, kill the boss assigned to get daily rewards. Modified ContentCube of Fate - The last 10 rooms of the Cube of Fate are being modified, including the rewards received at the end. Dominance Blessings - Players can now receive a new "blessing item" whenever they enter certain dungeons. These blessings will add +10 attack level and +10 defense level, and will disappear upon completion or exiting the instance. This blessing will be available in the following dungeons: - Hall of Deception
- Gate of Delirium
- Secret Frostcover Grounds
- Valley of Disaster
- Wraithgate
- Hallucinatory Trench
- Eden / Brimstone Pit
- Abbadon / Seat of Torment
- The Lunar Glade
- Twilight Temple
- Valley of Reciprocity
- Frostcovered City
New FeaturesSecurity Code Changes - If you have a Safe Code password set up for your bank, the system will prompt you to enter the password the first time you log in and change your equipment or fashion wardrobe. Skill Bar Extension - The quick skill bar has been expanded to accommodate more skills. Skills can now be allocated to the number keys 1-9 (previously 1-6). Group Combat Awareness - When a squad member has entered combat, a red rectangle will appear around their name in the squad list. Buff Extension/Toggle - Expanded the number of Buff and Debuff icons that can be seen on the squad list. A toggle on/off has also been added for these icons. Wardrobe Revision - Your wardrobe storage is now carried with you in an alternate inventory tab. Additionally we will be adding the Auto-Fashion Change feature, allowing you to set your favorite fashion sets, then set a time interval for them to automatically rotate. Socket Stone Requirements - You can now view the amount of socket stones required for each level of weapon or armor. Auction House Favorites - This features allows players to keep track of certain auctions by saving them into a new favorites tab. Fixes/Changes- Fixed an issue where the Venomancer was unable to change into Fox Form while unarmed. - All Cube of Fate Lottery rooms (51 - 59) require a certain amount of coins to proceed, or to get the initial quest. Text for the NPCs have been re-localized to reflect this cost. - A wide variety of Genie skills are being changed/altered, as well as some new Genie skills being added. Now while most of these updates aren't really important to us right now, I think the addition of the new Daily Quest Bounty will help make grinding that last bit of exp a tad bit easier. I just hope they don't require us to kill World Bosses as that may be impossible at this point.

Since most of my regular TV shows are on their season break I been watching 'filler' tv shows like Mythbusters and um...
That's all I can really think of... DVD's aren't tv shows so I can't really list those.
I do like House, Kyle, Heroes, and a few others =D

Some items you pick up like Soft Furs, Disguise Skins, serve a purpose. At some point, you'll start doing Dragon Quests. These quests are basically scavenger hunt type quests where you speak to one person and bring X amount of monster loots to another. They are long and drawn out quests that tend to have several sub-quests which need to be completed in order to see a reward.
Most people collect these DQ items and sell them to other players. Hence, why it might be a good idea to start collecting some of the more sought after items now for yourself rather than spend your money on them.
You can also do a quest from the Banker where he asks for materials. If you collect everything he asks for, he will increase your Bank storage space by one row. Furthermore, after completing the first Bank Quest, he offers a second bank quest with the much more costly monster drops on the menu.
I'll type up what items you should start holding on to so you don't end up selling anymore than you need.
You don't really need to spend a lot on Armor's or Weapons for you character as you're a venomancer. If you happen to get an armor drop from a monster that fits you. Then by all means, mix and match your armors... You don't need to start spending actual gold on armor until you hit 30ish.
Oh, and another tip, pick up EVERYTHING... it might seem trivial at first but once you start selling the 'crap' to the merchants, it all adds up!

From what I have noticed with the 3 characters I've made.... A Blademaster (31), a Wizard (33), and my Venomancer (27), is that my Veno has made more gold than the other two characters have at the same level.
I think its primarily due to the fact that I don't really need to buy those Red and Blue pots for magic and health as often as with the others.... I also don't need to buy the greatest armor or weapons since I'm not doing the actual fighting...
However, across the three characters, I've earned approximately, 500k in gold. A little closer to actually earning a mount. I just hope when I do crack 1 million, that the prices for them have come down considerably. Wishful thinking in that everyone gets tired of theirs and make em free XD
BTW, sorry to hear about the weather.... Tornado watch? Freezing rains?

It would seem that since you accidentally closed the game there may still be a PW process running on your machine.
Try going into your task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and look under the processes tab to see if this is indeed the case. If you see a process named "patcher.exe" or "elementclient.exe" go ahead and right-click then end process.
If there is an error with the game itself, you may need to run an update which would verify all downloaded files. This will also repair/redownload corrupt files for you.

I know the feeling! When I started playing, before I got Mousie into the game, I had to figure things out on my own. Lots of researching (finding out things the hard way) before I learned what I could really do. Not to say that I know everything about the game as I'm still learning myself.
The only drawback is not being able to carry players of the same sex. Males can only carry female characters. Perhaps they should start legislation on same sex carriers LOL. That whole issue is for another topic entirely =D

I've got myself a Venomancer as well. It's something I play around with while Mousie is at work. I must say that for someone who is new to the game and the genre, that particular class is quite possibly the best choice to start with. Veno's can specialalize in Pet Mastery (control monsters) and Werebeast (fox fighter) form. You can get into decent groups for quests, farm (earn gold), and just be an independent player (if you choose to). To answer your Q, once you have your pet out in the world, you'll want to check if the pet is set into the follow command mode. On the pet skill bar, it should be represented as the "Paw" icon, this has them follow you and attack whatever you attack. The leash icon puts your pet into the halt position, or heel. This will make the pet stay put and not attack. The Perfect World official forum is a good place to start when you need a general idea of where you want to spend attribute points and what skills you should specialize in. Here's the Venomancer section of their forum Perfect World International - Venomancer BoardsHere are two more sites that I highly recommend you bookmark as well... I'm currently watching Kurokami and Gintama along with the usual weekly Bleach and Naruto episodes. I'm still in the process of finding more anime shows to jump into since most of the ones I've recently finished end around 26 episodes.

I picked up a used copy of Mirror's Edge at Gamestop after an appointment I had Monday morning. I always meant to pick it up sooner but hadn't gotten around to it because other more important things would come up.
I still have an untouched Disgaea 3 just staring at me so hopefully I'll be able to sit down to it one of these days.

Mousie and I have started playing a free MMORPG called Perfect World International. It has your basic story with your standard (mage, melee, healer) character classes. The major draw to this game for us is that it's FREE.We haven't really played much since she's started working but we do manage to find the time to get online here and there.
